Tony Betts is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience in both the NHS and private practice. He has worked at the world-renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) for many years. Tony specializes in musculoskeletal injuries and has a particular clinical interest in the assessment and treatment of scoliosis in patients of all ages — from infantile to adult onset.
Throughout his career, Tony has collaborated for over 20 years with a German Schroth Therapist and worked closely for 15 years with Min Mehta, contributing significantly to the development and teaching of the Side Shift program. He has published clinical pathways, treatment guidelines, and post-operative spinal exercise protocols. As an Honorary Spinal Teacher at University College London, Tony has taught regionally and nationally on conservative and post-surgical rehabilitation of the lumbar spine.
Tony Betts is an expert in treating complex and long-standing orthopaedic injuries, with a particular focus on nerve-related conditions, the lumbar spine, shoulders, and ankles.
He also supervises clinical staff, mentors students, and delivers national lectures on orthopedic rehabilitation. With expertise in post-surgical recovery for shoulder and elbow conditions, Tony brings a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to every stage of patient care. He is also a trained medico-legal expert, fully compliant with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) for Expert Witnesses.
